Rocket Raccoon and Groot became the emblem of the mission to Mars
The American Aeronautics and Space Administration and Marvel have unveiled a new logo at San Diego Comic-con 2016 that will be used to represent space exploration. Including, as director James Gunn noted on his official Twitter page, a flight to Mars. The logo contains graphic images of the heroes of the movie "Guardians of the Galaxy" Rocket Raccoon and Groot. "So cool. NASA Casis (Center for the Advancement of Science in Space) has partnered with Marvel to portray Rocket and Groot on the official Mars mission emblem," the director said under the photo from the presentation. The emblem was designed by Juan Do, the cover author for many Marvel comics. According to Ken Shields, co-director of CASIS educational programs, the partners expect that the use of such popular images will increase the interest of young people in the research that is carried out on board the International Space Station and the further exploration of outer space.
