Film Studios Skybound Entertainment and Universal Pictures intend to shoot a new version of the cult horror movie "American Werewolf in London". According to Deadline, the remake will be written and directed by Max Landis, son of the original creator, John Landis. The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman has been appointed producer.

In the original 1981 movie, it was about two young people traveling through the English countryside. They are attacked by a wolf, which turns out to be a werewolf. One of the heroes dies, and the second begins to gradually turn into a monster. The movie was successful at the box office, and the creators of the makeup for it were awarded an Oscar.

Various studios tried to make a remake of the movie for many years, but the project was never realized. The shooting and possible rental schedules were not specified at the time of this writing.

Recall that Max Landis is known in Hollywood mainly as a screenwriter. He has worked on scripts for movies such as The Chronicle, Ultra-Americans, Victor Frankenstein and others.

In 2011, he directed the satirical comedy The Death and Return of Superman, which pokes fun at the primitivism of comic book adaptations dedicated to the popular superhero.
