NBC will revive Amazing Stories

NBC and Hannibal creator Brian Fuller are set to revive the 1980s Amazing Stories anthology. This is reported by Entertainment Weekly.

A sci-fi series about mysterious, fantastic and supernatural events, created by Steven Spielberg, ran for two seasons and was broadcast on NBC from 1985 to 1987.

Fuller will write and executive produce with Justin Falway and Darryl Frank. The drama will be produced by Universal Television and Amblin Television. Spielberg will not be taking part in the project.

The project will mark the return of Fuller to NBC, who shut down Hannibal this year after its third season. Anthology, the now popular television format, will air weekly and present a new story every time.

Netflix video service recently announced the start of work on new episodes of the anthology "Black Mirror". The CW, in turn, tried last year to relaunch Tales of the Dark Side anthology, in which each episode would tell one story and change the cast all the time.

Amazing Stories received twelve nominations for an Emmy, winning five awards as a result.
