Showtime plans to direct a thriller based on the novel You: A Novel
Showtime has teamed up with Arrow and Flash executive producer Greg Berlanti and former Supernatural showrunner Gray Gamble to create the psychological thriller You, which will be produced by Berlanti Productions, Alloy Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television. This is reported by Deadline. The upcoming drama series, based on Caroline Kepnes's novel You: A Novel, published in September 2014, is described as a twenty-first century love story. In the center of the plot – Joe Goldberg, an obsessed 20-year-old intellectual who uses the advances of the digital age to make the woman of his dreams fall in love with him. Berlanti and Gamble are working on the script and will executive produce with Leslie Morganshtein, Sherrill Dolins and Sarah Shechter. In addition, Berlanti will direct a pilot. Berlanti Productions is producing two pilots for Supergirl for CBS and Blindspot for NBC; the CW TV series "Arrow" and "The Flash" and the NBC drama "The Secrets of Laura".
