Japanese company Toho, which owns the rights to Godzilla, intends to prevent the movieing of a fantastic movie called "Colossal", in which Anne Hathaway is ready to play the main role. This is reported by the Variety edition.

The lawsuit, which was filed on behalf of Toho in a California federal court, alleges that the moviemakers are trying to "advertise and sell an unauthorized Godzilla movie to investors." As evidence, the plaintiffs cite an excerpt from an interview with director Nacho Vigalondo, in which he describes his own project as "the cheapest Godzilla movie ever made."

Toho's representatives insist that the presentation that was sent to potential project contributors included a photograph of Godzilla from the movie of the same name, released under license in 2014.

Recall that the plot of the picture should be built around the heroine, who at one point loses her job and her lover. When she is about to return from New York to her hometown, she learns from the news about the attack of a giant lizard on Tokyo, and suddenly realizes that she has something to do with these events. The heroine has to understand why her generally unremarkable life is so important for saving the world.
