Guillermo Del Toro has given up on Silent Hills

Guillermo Del Toro has pulled out of Silent Hills, which the Mexican director was to work on with Konami, Hideo Koijima, and The Walking Dead star Norman Rudus. The Gamespot edition reports about this with reference to its sources.

The reasons for the director's resignation, which he himself announced at a press conference during the San Francisco Film Festival, were not specified. Apparently, this news came as a complete surprise to Reedus. The actor responded with a comment on his official Twitter page, expressing the hope that "the development of the project will continue."

At the time of this writing, Konami studio has refrained from commenting on this, and the fate of "Silent Hills" remains unknown. It is possible that the reason for such radical changes lies in the studio's protracted conflict with the developer Hideo Koijima, who intended to terminate the contract in September 2015 after the release of the game "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain".

Recall that the game "Silent Hills" was presented at Gamescom 2014. Hideo Koijima claimed that he intends, together with Guillermo Del Toro, to make the most terrible game in the industry and even joked that collector's editions will be equipped with a "pair of spare underpants."

Several teasers of the game have been released, one of which is presented below.
