Game of Thrones Released for Season 7

HBO has renewed Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley and VIP for next seasons, which will air in 2017. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter with reference to HBO.

The news was announced a few days before all three series will return with new seasons on the channel on Sunday, April 24, 2016, – Game of Thrones with season 6, VIP with season 5 (and new showrunner David Mandel), and Silicon Valley with season 3.

The Game of Thrones extension for just one season is a bit surprising ... In January of this year, the channel was preparing to sign a two-year contract for the production of the show, which consistently demonstrates high ratings and wins prestigious television awards. As a reminder, Game of Thrones won an Emmy in 2015 for Best Drama Series.

Last week, according to sources, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss discussed the possibility of extending the series for two shorter final seasons - – the seventh, consisting of seven episodes, and the eighth – and probably the final – from six episodes.

The number of episodes in the seventh season of "Game of Thrones" is not mentioned in HBO's announcement. The situation with the comedies "VIP" and "Silicon Valley" is similar.
