Blade Runner 2 premiere postponed

Film studio Alcon Entertainment has announced the postponement of the premiere of Blade Runner 2. As reported by Variety, citing an official press release, instead of January 12, 2018, as previously planned, the picture will be presented to viewers on October 6, 2017.

What caused the change in the rental schedule is not specified. It is worth noting that, in both January 2018 and October 2017, Blade Runner 2 has no direct competitors. It is likely that the moviemakers feared a long and successful distribution of the eighth episode of "Star Wars", which should start in mid-December 2017.

Key roles in the project will be played by Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright and Dave Batista. The plot at the time of this writing was not specified, it was only known that the action would take place several decades after the events of the original 1982 movie. The director of the movie is Denis Villeneuve, and the creator of the first part, Ridley Scott, is appointed producer.

Recall that "Blade Runner" was based on the work of American science fiction writer Philip K. Dick "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep", but the plot of the picture was significantly different from the literary source.
