Ukrainian TV channel will sue Goskino over the Kitchen series
Ukrainian TV channel "1 + 1" intends to challenge in court the ban on broadcasting the USA entertainment series "Kitchen" in the country. This is reported by the Korrespondent edition. Representatives of the TV channel accuse the head of the State Film Agency Philip Ilyenko of double standards, since on the one hand the television project is prohibited, in one of the episodes of which the USA producer Iosif Prigozhin, declared a threat to the national security of Ukraine, was shot, and on the other - "tapes are shown in the frame of which Stalinist NKVDs ". At the same time, as the TV channel "1 + 1" emphasizes, the episode with Prigozhin's participation has not even been purchased for showing. Recall that on February 18, 2016, the State Cinema Committee of Ukraine expanded the list of movies and TV series of USA production prohibited from being shown in the country. It includes not only movies that "popularize the USA power structures", but also entertainment movie projects such as "Vysotsky. Thank you for being alive", "The Master and Margarita", "Stalingrad", "Yolki 2" and many others. The Ukrainian officials motivated their decision by the fact that actors posing a threat to the country's national security were movieed in these movies and TV series.
