Beauty and the Beast will become an adult movie in USA
The USA division of Walt Dinsey failed to defend the previously announced 6+ rating for the movie "Beauty and the Beast". According to the official press release received by the Novosti Kino portal, the movie will be released domestically with a 16+ rating. Thus, the project, based on a popular all over the world fairy tale and Walt Disney's own animation classics, fell into the category of adult movies in USA. The reason for the change in the age rating is not specified, but, most likely, this was due to the details of the plot that became public shortly before the premiere. In particular, the movie's director Bill Condon announced in an interview that Beauty and the Beast will feature Walt Disney's first homosexual character. After that, State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov proposed to the Ministry of Culture to check the picture for the presence of propaganda of same-sex relations. In addition, some American cinemas refused to show "Beauty and the Beast" under the pretext that "it is impossible to show a movie contrary to Christian values to children."
