ABC to movie TV remake of Dirty Dancing
ABC will direct a television movie based on the 1987 melodrama Dirty Dancing. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Abigail Breslin (Scream Queens) will play the female lead. Emmy nominee Jessica Scharzer (American Horror Story) will write the screenplay and Breslin will play Baby played by Jennifer Gray in the original movie. The three-hour Lionsgate TV movie will be produced by Allison Shermur ("The Hunger Games") and Eleanor Bergsteen, who wrote the 1987 movie.
