Chinese corporation Alibaba Group, which owns one of the most popular electronic marketplaces and movie studio Alibaba Pictures, intends to expand its partnership with Paramount Pictures. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, we are talking about investments in the projects "Star Trek 3: Infinity" and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2".

As part of the new agreement, Alibaba Pictures will promote movies in the PRC. Other assets of the company will also be used to fulfill these obligations, in particular, the Tabao Movie ticket service, as well as the Yulebao crowdfunding platform.

As a reminder, Alibaba has previously supported Paramount's movie projects, for example, the action adventure Mission Impossible 5: Outcast Tribe, which earned more than $ 100 million in the Chinese box office. It is also worth noting that Alibaba Pictures has already started producing its own movies, the first of which will be presented to Chinese viewers in the second half of 2016.

As for the movies "Star Trek 3: Infinity" and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2", they will be released worldwide in July and June 2016, respectively.
