Peter Berg will shoot a feature movie about the terrorist attack during the Boston Marathon, which was organized by the Tsarnaev brothers. This is reported by the Variety edition.

The project, tentatively titled "Patriots ’ Day", will be based on the memoirs of Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis and will explore the chaos caused by the terrorist attack and a massive special operation to find criminals.

It is expected that the role of Davis himself will be played by Mark Wahlberg, with whom Berg has previously collaborated, but the tight shooting schedule may prevent the actor from taking part in the movie. Note that this is not the only Hollywood project dedicated to the dramatic events of 2013. 20th Century Fox and Lionsgate are also preparing their own versions of what happened. Shooting and rental schedules have not yet been specified.

Recall that the explosions occurred on April 15, 2013 in the spectator area of the traditional Boston Marathon. Three people died, including an eight-year-old child, more than 250 were injured of varying severity. American intelligence agencies conducted one of the largest round-ups in US history, and as a result, one of the criminals was shot and killed in a shootout, and the other, injured, was captured and later brought to justice. On May 15, 2015, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was sentenced to death.
