The movie adaptation of the popular game "Uncharted" with the tentative title "The Unknown: Drake's Luck" has lost its director. This is reported by The Wrap.

Seth Gordon left the project due to some creative differences with the new head of Sony Pictures studio Tom Rothman. The latter, who "inherited" the project from the previous management of the studio, considered that the scheme of its development proposed earlier did not correspond to the updated strategy. Representatives of both sides have so far declined to comment on this.

According to the latest information at the time of this writing, Oscar winner Mark Boal was appointed the scriptwriter of the movie. The leading actor was not officially named. In 2010, when there was talk of a screen adaptation of the game for the first time, Mark Wahlberg claimed the role of Drake, who promised to attract other popular Hollywood actors to work.

As a reminder, a third-person shooter created by Naughty Dog was released in 2007. In the center of the plot is the adventurer Nathan Drake, a descendant of the famous Francis Drake, who goes in search of the treasures of El Dorado. The game gained such popularity that the first was followed by several sequels. In 2015, the next part will be presented, titled "Uncharted 4: A Thief`s End".

The movie was slated to premiere in June 2016.
