The Victorian version of "Sherlock" will be shown in theaters. This was announced during the series' panel at Comic-Con 2015 by Steven Moffat, the show's executive producer and lead writer. His words are quoted by the publication Deadline.

In particular, Moffat said the following: "When the special Christmas episode comes out next year, it will be shown in several theaters around the world."

In an excerpt from the episode Before the panel began, the great detective (Benedict Cumberbatch) appeared in nineteenth-century attire and furnishings. As it became clear from the passage, Mr. Holmes and his landlady Mrs. Hudson (Una Stubbs) are not fans of the literary work of Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman), criticizing his overly pompous tone.

When asked about the script for Season 4, Moffat said he hadn't started working on it yet.

Moffat's colleague executive producer Sue Werthu and actor Rupert Graves joined him at Ballroom 20. As in previous years Cumberbatch was absent from the meeting, but recorded a video in which he greeted fans of the series. The video began with a message from Andrew Scott, playing Holmes' nemesis, Moriarty. Scott is currently movieing 007: Specter, Bond Part 24. Then Cumberbatch appeared alongside executive producer Mark Gatiss, who also stars as Sherlock's brother, Mycroft. Both actors play in the same play "Hamlet" in the UK. Scott ended the video with Moriarty's signature line, "Hi Comic-Con. Did you miss me?"
