DC Entertainment has shortlisted the cast to play Hal Jordan in the upcoming Green Lantern adaptation of the comic book series. According to The Wrap, citing its sources, in addition to Ryan Reynolds, who has already played this role, Tom Cruise, Bradley Cooper, Jake Gyllenhaal, Armie Hammer and Joel McHale are included.
It is argued that the process of selecting performers for key roles is at a very early stage, so no negotiations with the actors themselves have yet been conducted. It's worth noting that Bradley Cooper had already auditioned for the role of Green Lantern for the 2011 movie, but in the end, the producers opted for Reynolds. This attempt at adapting the popular DC comic book series failed, with the movie making only $ 230 million on a production budget of $ 200 million.
The next one will be undertaken in 2020, when the Green Lantern Corps movie premieres. Earlier it was reported that viewers are likely to see not only Hal Jordan, but also his black colleague John Stewart. According to the proposed concept, it is the relationship of these two characters that will form the basis of a new story. This information has not yet been officially confirmed.
