Jamie Dornan will star in the movie about the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich
Jamie Dornan, whose popularity has grown in the wake of the success of the erotic melodrama "Fifty Shades of Gray", will play one of the main roles in the war drama "Anthropoid". This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The movie will be dedicated to the elimination during the Second World War of one of the most sinister Nazi criminals, the head of the General Directorate of Imperial Security of the Third Reich Reinhard Heydrich, who during his lifetime received the nickname "Prague Butcher". The covert operation was planned by British intelligence with the support of the Czech government in exile. The executors of the operation, which received the name "Anthropoid", were agents trained by the British, Joseph Gabczyk and Jan Kubis. In December 1941, they parachuted from a British Air Force plane in the vicinity of Prague, reached safe houses and established contacts with representatives of the resistance movement. The assassination attempt took place on the morning of May 27, 1942 in the suburbs of Prague, when Heydrich was driving his car to the center. SS Obergruppenfuhrer died from his injuries in hospital. The saboteurs managed to escape from the scene of the attack and take refuge with other underground workers in an Orthodox cathedral. However, their whereabouts became known to the Gestapo thanks to the betrayal of one of the participants in the resistance. After a hard battle with superior enemy forces, everyone in the church was killed. The second main role will be played by Cillian Murphy. Filming will start in July 2015.
