Warner Bros. Film Studio postponed for almost a year the premiere of the animated movie "Lego. Film 2". This is reported with reference to a press release by the Comicbook edition. Instead of May 18, 2018, as previously planned, the cartoon will be presented to viewers on February 2, 2019.
What motivates the changes in the rental schedule is not specified. Note that the postponement of the premiere of "Lego. Movie 2" is not the first time. Originally Warner Bros. planned to release it in May 2017.
In the new "rental window", the cartoon has no direct competitors yet. Only a week later another animation project was announced in the American box office - "SpongeBob - Squarepants 3", designed for approximately the same audience.
Recall that the first part was released in 2014. Her characters were voiced by Liam Neeson, Will Ferrell, Alison Bree, Nick Offerman, Elizabeth Banks, Morgan Freeman, Chris Pratt, Will Arnett, Channing Tatum, Anna Faris and other celebrities.
The cartoon was well received by both critics and viewers and earned more than $ 460 million at the worldwide box office with a very modest production budget of $ 60 million for projects of this type. Almost immediately after the premiere, the studio announced the creation of a sequel.
