IM Global and independent British video game developer and publisher Rebellion have announced a new adaptation of Judge Dredd's comics. As reported by Entertainment Weekly, citing its sources, this will be done in the form of a television series with the tentative title "Judge Dredd: Mega City One".

No timeframes for implementation have yet been specified, as well as possible performers of key roles and directors. We only know that the series is at an early stage of development.

Recall that the character Judge Dredd was invented in the late 70s of the last century and presented in a series of graphic novels published by 2000 AD. The action takes place in a utopian future, in which the east coast of the United States has turned into one metropolis, the power in which various criminal groups are divided, and the rule of law is maintained by a corps of Judges, who have the right not only to pass a sentence, but also to carry it out immediately.

The events of the comic were twice transferred to the big screens and both times were unsuccessful. First time in 1995 when the movie "Judge Dredd" was released, starring Sylvester Stallone. The movie earned only $ 113 million at the box office with a budget of $ 90 million. The new version, presented in 2012, earned 35 million at all with a budget of 50 million. The title role was played by Karl Urban.
