Disney Channel has closed Girl Meets the World (Topic)

Disney Channel's Girl Meets the World has been canceled after its third season. This is reported by Variety.

The news of the closure of the show, which is a spin-off of the popular 90s sitcom Boy Meets the World, first appeared on the series' Twitter page on Wednesday, January 4, 2017. In the post, the writers wrote: "An official call has just come in and we would like to thank the viewers for their love and loyalty. Please watch the episodes that will air in January."

Disney later confirmed the information with an official statement: " Disney Channel will air the final episode of "Girl Meets the World" on January 20. In "Girl Meets Goodbye," the Matthews' family ponders a vital decision. The first three seasons will be available for viewing on Disney Channel's digital platforms - Disney Channel app and Disney Channel VOD. Since its debut in 2014, the series has been nominated twice for Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
